Alemaarigalu @ Shivagange.. 28th Foot steps

Hibernation...is a wonderful word...sometimes it is a blessing....sometimes it is bane..but it depends how you take it....

unbelievable.. 2010-2013 saw wooping 25 trips/treks...but the next four years form 2013 to 2018 could able to stamp only two steps...shame shame...

But as usual there was plenty reasons, season and of courses excuses....:-)

It also seen The Buddy .. Prashanth...the pillar around which I used to plan the trips walked in to USA, Smarty Latesh and Saint Yashdeep got in to the whirlpool called "Marriage"... smiling assasin Anil got int o weedlock...and so on...and above all..myself..went in to silos... and Alemaarigalu group went in to deep hibernation....

our 26th Trip was to Chitradurga and 27th was a trek to Channagiri (will write on that soon)

Now the 2018 year opened the can of worms..and I decided to put the things in to the back burner..and move my best foot!!!

So JIT (just in time) call.. we were on the road...

It was a bike trip to Shivagange..a good 50kms ride from Bangalore on the Tumkur Road Highway.
Sandeep, Latesh, Soma, Giri, Kishor, Vinay and myself ... the seven samurai parked our bikes for the first photo session.

Our Alemaarigalu group is like a Alcohol...you taste it..you will never walk back..."Sandeep..take a selfie or a group photo know" I screamed....

Sandeep as usual obliged..and asked one senior citizen to freeze us....instead..the gentle man decided to freeze with us...see the photo :-)

Then on it was LOL on the road..cracking one after the another joke on the bike..laughing our loud...our speedometer was playing between 40 - 60 kms/hr...our safe speed....

Bikes were filled, but not our stomach so decided to break at Agarwal...it was a nice breakfast session..there were chairs...and tables..but we jumped in to one table and started biting each other plates :-)

We are there...and so the smile exists...we could change any situation in to a world war of laughter...

As usual, time was never on our priority...enjoyed each and every bit till we reach the base of the hillock ..SHIVAGANGE.

Slow and steady wins the race... right....after a long time we were on the song...never wanted to miss the fun...and something different trek was on the cards for us.

A corporate folks were doing a CSR activity.. picking up the plastic trash on the way to the summit.  Picking up used water bottles, tins and bundling together and informing the temple authorities about the quantum of non bio degradable trash!

Alemaarigalu team too joined the folks, and we spent about an hour, giving our hands in their noble cause.

We reached Olakal teertha.  A small temple complex inside a cave.  A small hole in a stone fetches water to the devotees.. It is believed to be on the basis of papa-punya.  Whatever it is, myth or scientific reasoning, the places attracts people and amazes the people across.

From here the sun was blazing, no cover, no shadow... it was scorching heat that tried to kill our spirit. But we are we...nothing can stop us :-)

A long photo session, A long walk to the summit increased our tempo.  Joining us couple of college students who brought our college days in front of our eyes..

We spent a good amount of time on the top, team was split in to three....one gang was on a photo spree mode...the second was on a resting mode...the third one was on playful mood with feeding monkeys :-)

The last stretch to the hillock really test your nerves, but need not be getting in to panic mode, railings helps us to lean on, and move slowly.   and of course the vendors with butter milk, juice, chats helps you to pep up.

While coming down one team of us went to Shiva Temple almost near the base of the hillock.  Here it is a magical shivalinga..  We know, we get ghee from butter when heated.  Here when ghee is smeared on the shivalinga, we get butter.  Indeed a special temple. It is very old temple believed to have a cave leading to Kashi.

All of us refreshed.. rejuvenated and of course gearing for the next trip.

We reached Nelamangala Toll and had a small eating session, before we said bye to all..and promised to meet soon on a next trip/trek..

The highlights of this trip :
  • Alemaarigalu started in 2010, Sandeep was on the pillion always, and I was on the riding seat, positions changed.. Sandeep riding his activa with lovely confidence was a find of this trip.
