Ocean of Books - Mr. Anke Gowda's Books Empire - Bird View 23.06.12


People says 
"Knowledge is power..."
"Power is Money..."
"Collect it, share it, utilize it to the optimum..."
"Money will be floating everywhere..."

On 23rd June 2012 morning..I witnessed a rare phenomena in my life ...A greatest human being I ever met in my life..studied the above lines in the reverse order...

"Money will be floating everywhere..."
"Collect it, share it, utilize it to the optimum..."
"Power is Money..."
"Knowledge is power... "

He had the habit of collecting the books, and distributing among his bunch of best friends. One fine day his "masterly" teacher advised him "If you want to do anything..collect the books"..those words fell on the ears like a humming musical note.  


Then started the journey of collecting the books..

He started on a small scale..and then the scale lost its size..and started growing in size...he utilised all his savings, earnings, and his property to buy the books, and preserve it for the generation.  Now the count of the books crossed more than two lakhs, and still the count is on...



You name the book, or subject, you will see the book in your hands in a jiffy.  Any book under the sun you can get it here for reference.  That kind of ocean of books i had never seen in my life, probably never again.



Point to be noted, this is not any government, or private or public funded library, it is owned, and maintained by Mr. Anke Gowdaru with the help of genuine politicians of his area, and one of the businessman.

It is not a small effort to be ignored, the information about this effort needs to be spread across in our society not only to make it a popular site, but the effort to be recognised, and preserved, and also to be utilised in an useful manner for the generation to come.

    I and my wife went to Mysore on our blog friend BALANNA'S invitation in november 2010.He had made arrangements for our visit to Sri.Ankegouda's book hose.It was astounding!I was at loss for words.I thought I was crazy of books! My wife used accuse me of my craze for book collection.But when we saw Sri.Ankegouda's collection,my collection paled in to nothingness!Since the visit my wife doesn't say a word about my book collection.It is some thing beyond words!unfathomable! The first thought that comes to one's mind is 'how some one on the planet earth can do it single handed!!'It is an ocean of books every where!A must see for all the book lovers and collectors,reminding them that 'you are not alone ,THERE IS A BIG BOSS THER AT PANDAVA PURA!!!' MAY HIS TRIBE INCREASE!! Thank you for an excellent writeup and photos!Regards.
